This product a) requires assembly - this was never mentioned and b) came with screws that were too short- as a result it is unusable (because it is unstable) until I go to a hardware store to purchase the proper screws. I would return it but have already disposed of packaging and it is too heavy to drag to the post office anyway. Do not buy this product.

Trained our new kitten to use/favor the scratch post for scratching and perching by luring her to the top with treats. She loves it and goes to it all the time now!

Looks good, feels solid, I have always been a fan of the rope scratching posts. I place it just behind and to the side of the couch to prevent scratching of furniture, and it works great!

Although there is some assembly required this product is still very weighty and solid feeling. My cats enjoy hanging from their posts until they fall over but they haven't been able to with this one. Both are full grown and about 13 lbs. each. This post is plenty tall for them.

This saved my new furniture. Any time my cat would start scratching somewhere inappropriate, I would pick her up and carry her to the scratcher. Now she knows where to scratch and my furniture is intact. While your cat is getting accustomed to the using the scratcher, double-sided tape on the furniture helps keep them away.
