The scent reminds me of Shampure (by Aveda)or lotions with a lot of herbal/earthy overtones (Jergen's Naturals) and it's a very herbal, gentle scent. I have used it on both my baby and my older daughter, and the smell lingers gently. I use gentle soaps on them, and the scents don't clash. I could see this scent being overpowering on people who use a lot of perfume or scented oil, because it's got a lingering scent. I think it smells great on my husband, very clean, and he doesn't use any other scent, deodorant or scented soap. If you ARE sensitive to smells, it might get to you. But I use a lot of Caldrea and Mrs. Meyers cleaners which are very herbal scented, and the shampoo just seems to work in my mostly natural household. If you like clean scents that linger, it's a very pleasant one.

A little bit of this stuff goes a long way! I felt it really washed my hair thoroughly but wasn't too drying or stripping. My only complaint would be that I think it has too much scent for a 'natural' shampoo brand. Very good value product.
