This Heavy duty aluminum LED flashlight from Dewalt puts out 57 lumens. A lumen is a unit of standard measurement used to describe the total light output of the flashlight. For example, a dinner candle provides about 12 lumens. In comparison, this Dewalt 1AA flashlight provides 57 lumens. All Dewalt flashlights are tested by an independent laboratory for the most precise measurement available. This flashlight has both a flood and spot beam combined for more versatility. The flood beam pattern simulates normal daylight conditions to take advantage of peripheral vision. The spot beam pattern creates a narrow, powerful beam of light for pinpointing distant areas. This flashlight uses an LED (Light Emitting Diode) system which is a solid-state semiconductor that converts electrical energy directly into and intense, high quality light.
